A Prayer, A Vision, A Reality
The name of this journey is “Here As In Heaven”. It is inspired by a part of the Lord’s Prayer in Matthew 6:10 which says, “Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven”. This is my constant prayer, a declaration of faith, an inspiration of vision and a miraculous reality I'm witnessing as a campus missionary in training. God transforms here!
My “here” consists of the campuses in Central Valley California. Your “here” can be anywhere in the world! Together we will see God’s will happen “here as in heaven”.

Hi, My name is Hami!
Here's a little bit about my changed life :)
Born in Ethiopia and raised in California, I got to experience childhood in the Christian faith and going to church. But I didn't live with true peace or consistent joy. There came a point where I had to make the personal choice to believe. My parents' faith couldn't save me. As a teenager, trying to overcome addiction to pornography, anxiety, depression, and suicidal thoughts alone became too much. My self worth was set by what others said of me. I truly believed that I made mistakes too big and too many times for God to forgive and fix. I contemplated choosing death over life.
But, thank God for prayer and people!
On a regular day in August 2013, I prayed and asked God to meet me and He did! He revealed His unconditional love and renewed my desire for life. As a young teenager, I believed Jesus died on the cross for everyone, including me, and God forgave me of all my mistakes. Instead of depression and anxiety, I live trusting the powerful peace of God. I am forgiven. I am loved. I belong with Jesus. I live by His grace, mercy, and guidance. If you relate to any part of my life story, I want you to know that you can pray and experience God changing your life from the inside out right now! It's easy, Jesus is for you, and all you need are your faith-filled words. Just pause and pray to Jesus. Ask Him to show you how much He loves you then trust His answer. I echo the apostle Paul's words in saying, "I am convinced that nothing can separate you from the love of Jesus". Then, share with a Christian what happened and ask them to walk with you in this life with Jesus.
As a college student, I grew with people in Christ-centered community, specifically through DCF (Davis Christian Fellowship) at UC Davis and CVXA. I had the humbling privilege to study the bible at Epic Bible College. In 2022, I graduated from UC Davis with a Bachelor's of Science in Nutrition Science intending to go into medicine. Along the way, God pivoted me from medicine to ministry, specifically campus ministry! Now, I live out my vision of walking with people through transformative healing through the vehicle of ministry. I finished a Bachelor's of Arts in Ministerial Studies at EPIC Bible College in 2024. Eleven years since I made Jesus the Savior and center of my life, I am still healing and growing in my faith as I reach and equip students for Christ-centered living and leading.
